The Lone Star Farms Bee Club/Registry is a“chemical free”bee club and has been formed to promote healthy beekeeping practices and clean honeybee products. Members of this club will be dedicated to learning how to raise only hygienic bees. This type of honeybee will eliminate the need for placing pesticides into the hive. Hives that have not had pesticides intentionally introduced into them have healthier bees and produce healthier bee products for the consumer. Members of this club who are local will enjoy a once a month meeting that will focus on fellowship, learning and sharing experiences without the distraction of the usual organizational formalities, i.e. officers, dues, etc. Meetings will usually last one hour, but can sometimes run longer (no camping) for discussion. Outings to other beekeepers facilities and beekeeping related businesses will be enjoyed.
Everyone’s knowledge and experience is valuable and should be shared. It is not the intention of the “Lone Star Farm’s” bee club to include only local beekeepers, but rather to encourage participation by anyone/club who is or wants to be chemical free and is interested in beekeeping no matter where you live to join us. We can learn from each other. The club’s mission is to help each other with all facets of beekeeping, i.e. equipment selection, hive management practices, extracting honey, etc. and support clean and chemical free beekeeping practices in general. Lone Star Farm’s hope is for all chemical free and chemical free wanta "bees" join our growing members list to show their support for "Saving The Bees One Hive At A Time"
For those of you who have become a member and live too far away to attend our meetings, I encourage you to tune in to our website and keep up with what is happening here. Likewise, we encourage you as a member of “Lone Star Farm’s” chemical free bee club to share what is going on in your area through our website. We would like to see pictures and read about activities from our members in other parts of the country/world. Your information will be published in our “Club News” in a future edition.
